The Guanziroli Silversmith was born in 1953 from the idea of Giorgio Guanziroli, an official knight of the Italian Republic, a master of chiseling and hand engraving, but also a designer, planner and entrepreneur.

Giorgio founded the company, now in its third generation, on a principle that continues to be the beating heart of Guanziroli: the pursuit and enhancement of beauty and elegance. This commitment to artistic excellence and craftsmanship has made Guanziroli Silverware a symbol of timeless sophistication.

Since its beginnings, Argenteria Guanziroli has embarked on a path of continuous stylistic research, exploring new forms and proportions that combine tradition and innovation. Each piece is the result of a careful reflection on design, where the harmony of lines and the purity of forms come together to create unique objects, capable of evoking emotions and enriching any environment with timeless beauty.

Tradition and innovation

Argenteria Guanziroli represents a perfect balance between tradition and innovation, embodying the legacy of ancient craftsmanship techniques while embracing the possibilities offered by new technologies. For more than seventy years, we have been the custodians of knowledge rooted in the noblest traditions of Italian silversmithing.

Craft techniques, handed down from generation to generation, are at the core of our creative process. However, our loyalty to tradition does not mean remaining anchored in the past. We have been able to renew ourselves to meet the needs of an ever-changing market, integrating the latest technologies and state-of-the-art production methods to improve precision and efficiency, without ever compromising the quality and uniqueness of craftsmanship.

Religious and state institutions

Guanziroli has intertwined its history with that of religious and state institutions, contributing creations that represent not only the art of Italian silvers, but also a deep respect for the cultural and spiritual heritage of our country.

Our dedication to craftsmanship excellence has also led us to significant meetings with top religious authorities. One particularly touching moment was the meeting with Pope Paul VI, which marked an important milestone in the history of our company. But it was the audience with Pope St. John Paul II that represented one of the highest moments in our journey: on that occasion, we had the privilege of donating to the Holy Father the silver reproduction of the stoup from Villa Giovio crowned with the dove of peace.

These events, and the works that accompanied them, testify to our commitment to put our art at the service of universal values, creating pieces that go beyond their material value to become symbols of dialogue, culture and spirituality.

Showroom in Villa Giovio of Verzago

Since 1989, Argenteria Guanziroli has established its headquarters and showroom in Alzate Brianza, inside the historic Villa Giovio di Verzago. This splendid 17th-century villa, once the home of the Counts Giovio of Como, has become an extraordinary setting to display our creations, combining the elegance of the past with the art of contemporary silverware.

The choice of Villa Giovio was not accidental: it reflects our commitment to preserving beauty and history, not only through our products, but also through the care of an architectural heritage of inestimable value. As with the art of silversmithing, which requires dedication and attention to detail, we take charge of safeguarding and maintaining this beautiful building, ensuring that its beauty can be appreciated by future generations.

The showroom, located inside the villa, offers our customers and visitors a unique experience. Each room is a journey through time, where the ancient home of the Counts Giovio becomes an evocative showcase for Guanziroli’s creations. Among the frescoes and decorated ceilings, our pieces shine, telling the story of an art that has been handed down through the centuries.

Villa Giovio of Verzago is not only our headquarters, but a symbol of our commitment to combining tradition and innovation, history and the future.

Sustainability

For Argenteria Guanziroli, environmental, social and governance sustainability is not just a goal, but a fundamental pillar of our decision-making and strategic system. We firmly believe that the quality of our products is not limited to their beauty and functionality, but is also reflected in the values that guide each stage of our production process and in the responsibility we feel towards the environment, our employees and the local community.

Environmental Sustainability

One of the main aspects of our commitment to sustainability is the recycling of production scrap, both in silver and other metals. Scrap generated during our processing is recovered and reintegrated into the production cycle wherever possible, or reintegrated back into the metal cycle, minimizing waste and reducing the environmental impact associated with extracting and processing new resources.

In addition, the silver and sheffield items we produce do not undergo impactful surface coating treatments: we do not apply coatings or other substances that could compromise the purity of the metal. This means that our products guarantee not only a quality aesthetic result, but also a reduced environmental impact, avoiding as much as possible the use of substances that are toxic to humans and nature.

Our processes, many of which are performed manually, involve limited energy use. However, we are always engaged in the study and research of new solutions to further improve the energy efficiency of our production process. We want to be key players in the change toward more sustainable management of energy resources, contributing to the reduction of emissions and the adoption of increasingly environmentally friendly production practices.

Social sustainability

Our company is built on a strong sense of social responsibility. The safety and health of our employees is a top priority, and we are committed to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

One aspect that is particularly close to our hearts is the preservation of the ancient craft techniques of silver working. These skills, the result of centuries of tradition, represent a cultural and artistic heritage of inestimable value. At Guanziroli, we are committed to passing on this knowledge to new generations of employees through an in-house training process. Each new craftsman who joins our company is guided by experienced masters so that traditional techniques are not lost and can continue to live on and evolve over time.

In addition to preserving our roots, this transfer of craftsmanship enriches the career path of our employees, making possible a continuity of excellence in production and strengthening the link between past and future. We believe that this synergy between tradition and innovation is fundamental to the success of the company and to the preservation of an ancient art that deserves to be handed down.

In addition, we collaborate with local suppliers, all of whom reside in Italy. This strategic choice allows us not only to guarantee the quality of the materials used, but also to support the local economy and reduce the environmental impact related to transportation. This connection with the local supply chain strengthens our sense of community and promotes a more sustainable and circular economic model.

Community engagement

Our commitment to sustainability is not limited to the corporate sphere. We are deeply connected to local communities and actively collaborate with government agencies and charities to support initiatives of common interest. These partnerships are our way of returning value to the society around us, contributing to its development and well-being.

In addition, we have made a special commitment to the preservation of Villa Giovio, a national monument of great historical and cultural importance. Defending and preserving this heritage is not only an honor for us, but also a responsibility to future generations. The care for Villa Giovio represents a symbol of our connection with the territory and our dedication to the protection of Italy’s cultural and artistic heritage.

At Argenteria Guanziroli, sustainability is a daily choice, reflected in every action and decision. We look to the future with a commitment to continue to improve, aware that our success depends on our ability to combine production excellence, respect for the environment and social responsibility.
